About

Greetings! I am the newlywed Mrs. Cummings and this is my prescription for a happy life: crafts, cocktails, and canines.

As a soon-to-be pharmacist, I have spent the last 6 years of my life focused on, well drugs. I have spent countless late nights in the library chugging Redbull and Starbucks double-shots while the laundry and dishes have piled up. Not quite the dream of a housewife but my husband and I have gotten by, adding clothes to the wardrobe when there are none left in the closet and having “Good Guys Pizza” on speed-dial.

I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel now that I have started “rotations,” the practical learning portion of my education. With some time to think…and cook and clean the dishes…I have realized that there are parts of me that have been on hold these past few years and I want them back!

These past couple months, I have time to do the creative projects I love! Time to make a card rather than paying $5 to buy one from Safeway. These past couple months, I have spent more money at Joann Fabrics then I really should have. But I’m balanced and happy and I have come to realize that there are more important things in life than knowing everything about drugs and focusing on a career. I have come to realize that my prescription for a happy life right now is: crafts, cocktails. and canines 🙂

With that, I hope you enjoy reading my prescription for a happy life and take some time to think about your own!

Thanks for stopping!

What an awesome blog! With the whole Rx thing and you becoming a pharmacist — very catchy! And then there’s your prescription for a happy life: canines, cocktails and crafts … I’m definitely with you on the first two … but the craft part makes me a little bonkers sometimes because my “crafty” mother failed to pass that gene on to me! So instead I just dab, squeeze, drip, pour, throw paint onto a canvas and call it abstract! 🙂

    • thanks!! still working up the details but I have lots of cocktails and crafts to share so I’m just going with the flow so far 🙂 I want my husband to teach me some programming so I can make my page style more suited to me. blogging is such an adventure, so fun! thanks for reading!

How exciting that you are finding yourself through creative projects! I believe we all have a creative side to us and it benefits us greatly to get in touch with it. I don’t drink often, but I will surely reference your cocktail recipes when I entertain.

Best of luck to you in all your endeavors!

ok, what a blog. I’m such a numbskull….never occured to me when reading your comments that you would’ve had a wordpress blog for your comments to just pop up like that. Loving all your craft tips. I used to do lots of beading but gave up when I became stale and boring! Also I’m remarkably untidy so beads all over the place is just about what all my patient husband needs to push him over the edge! It’s also very reassuring that your dogs, despite being obviously well cared for try to make a break for freedom as mine does. I need to become more authorative. One of these days I’ll unleash a reign of terror on this household, I know I will!

    • thanks dear! i enjoy yours too 🙂 those damn dogs….my husband just called me at work and said they are in the yard laying on the lawn chairs like they are on a sunny beach lol. can’t live with them or without them!!

Too right, mine sleeps on his back with his paws in the air. He robbed some chocolate biscuits out of the cupboard earlier so he’s feeling a bit podged and is crashed out on the sofa…I’ve touched his tummy a couple of times and he seems to be breathing. We called him Bertie after our former Irish Taoiseach(prime minister) Bertie Ahern – he is held responsible for the economic crash that took us from riches to rags and my husband blames the dog for everything but the weather but we adore him. He’s a beagle. 🙂 Well thank you for inspiring me to take up craft again. Amateur drama is my outlet but I could totally fit in a bit of beading!
