Candy-Cane Cocktail

Oh darn….hit “Save” instead of “Publish”….anyways here’s something to do with your left-over holiday sweets! From 12/24-

Merry Christmas everyone!! Presents wrapped and under the tree….here’s one last holiday cocktail recipe in case you want something new to drink tonight while playing Santa đŸ™‚

My Candy-Cane Cocktail

2oz cherry vodka

1oz milk

2oz simple syrup

2oz soda

1/8 tsp peppermint extract

red food coloring

candy-cane for garnish

I wanted to try something new to make it look like a candy-cane so here’s my technique….involving red food coloring on ice! Just drizzle red food coloring on the ice and let it “soak in” while I started mixing.

Then shake your vodka, peppermint, milk, soda, and simple syrup in a martini shaker. CAREFULLY pour onto ice and they result should be a swirly red and white candy cane cocktail. I tried it with half and half instead of milk and if you can afford the calories you should because it makes the candy cane swirling effect much easier đŸ™‚

Not a big fan of peppermint drinks but this was pretty good! Give it a try, sweet enough for the cocktail people but the peppermint gives it a kick! Hope you all enjoy your holiday….

Merry Christmas!!
